Job Description
NextWaveSTEM is a Chicago startup bringing hands-on STEM education courses on emerging technologies to students K-12 and beyond through in-school and after-school programs. Our course offerings include Coding with Drones, Robotics, 3D Printing, AI, and more.
We are looking for passionate instructors who enjoy working with students and have previous experience working with elementary school, middle school, or high school-aged students. (No teacher certification required).
Previous STEM and Scratch Programming experience is a plus! We offer training to our tutors in different technologies such as Drones, 3-D Printing, and Robotics. All you need is excitement for new technology and a passion for teaching! Our partnered schools are located around the Chicago, Milwaukee, New York City, and Prince George county areas.
As a NextWaveSTEM instructor, you will be responsible for facilitating 60-90 minute STEM lessons using a pre-set curriculum. Each session is hands-on and the goal is to help spark student interest in STEM. We train you in the curriculum and provide all materials. Our classes follow the school calendar and are taught year-round.

Qualifications and Skills
Strong classroom management skills to keep students on task and engaged
Experience working with school-age children in a recreational program, child care center, or education setting preferred
STEM and scratch programming experience a plus
